If any one person in this country can have any impact on the market, it is Trump, not Mnuchin. Not that any one person is the cause of this. But Trump certainly isn't helping things with moronic stuff like tariffs and shutting down the government. Mnuchin didn't do that.

No, but try Powell and the Federal Reserve and you'll be getting closer.

We have very low interest rates and very low levels of unemployment. That is a well-known recipe for inflation. The Fed is supposedly charged with trying to avoid inflation. Higher interest rates are its only tool to do that. Now they are getting grief for using that tool.

Worked in companies like this. With a lot of turnover. Eventually that CEO runs out of people to scapegoat. When other high level "valuable" people observe you throwing your people under the bus, and there are firings, nobody with a good head on their shoulders wants to take the job...because they want a future and they want to keep their good reputation.
Maybe everything I was taught is wrong. I thought the guy with the big shoulders who held himself accountable was the model of successful leadership.
Maybe this is some kinda new model.
Was never a trump fan (or a hillary fan or an obama fan....seems like we don't get much to choose from these days), but I'm becoming increasingly displeasured by how Trump is running things, enough so that I am actually a bit worried......

Exactly, interest rates have been due to move for a while or the outcome will be worse. This was coming Trump or no Trump.
But heres the kicker. He just makes the situation worse. Tariffs, shut downs, temper tantrums. "I know better than everyone else." lol. The markets and Corporate market people despise instability. They want a smooth surface, instability leads to worry...…..worry leads to panic. Then, well, you start seeing this.
If this keeps up, wait til next month. When they closed the Govt. I knew Monday would be a massacre. My girlfriend told me not to talk about it. Cause I told her in March this was coming. I told the clowns on here too......and they laughed at me.
Interest rates gonna rise...….market gonna correct....Jamoke in office gonna make it worse than it has to be by acting out. Bye Bye ….One Term Charlie. These folks will submarine you.
I hear a bus a coming...….guess who gets thrown under it?

By the way..all THOSE minimum wage increases passing in some areas...pretty much guarantees future inflation.....
