Belmont-Penn National Pick 4

http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...ger?source=rss

It'll be the last 2 races from Belmont and the first 2 from Penn National every Thursday.

This should be very interesting. I like the idea of a 15% takeout and 50 cent min. But not so sure many bettors will search for or even see the new track code of BELMONTPENNPICK4. It may be better to have it listed under the Belmont track code since it will commence on their last 2 races.

Wonder if the Belmont legs will be broadcast. I wish them all the best of luck with this new bet. Maybe it will lead to more reduced takeout bets.

I will play it. As long as my ADW takes it- Horseplayersbet and Xpressbet.

Always play weekday PENN anyway, and this new bet with 15% takeout is inticing. PENN usually has a maiden claiming sprint carded near the beginning of the card, a type race that I prefer to play. Curious to what the pool will be, since PENN only handles 8K-12K on their Pick 4's, a small fraction of NYRA's Pick 4 pool. Got David and Goliath going on, which for me is fine.

I loved the MAGNA 5 bet too. Sometimes there is a better sequence of races when you combine tracks. More options.

What are the chances that all these PP's will be included in the same simulcast program or DRF issue?

DRF should def have it and I'm going to have to guess the simulcast or Post Parades will have the Penn races PP's if they are offering the bet.

Ok...
A couple questions...
Dumb one first...Will those at Penn Nat'l be able to make the bet?
Isn't the takeout on exotic wagers in PA like 30%?
If so, will the bets originating in PA not be subject to the higher takeout?
If these seem like dumb questions please answer them. Then you can make fun of me for asking.
Thanks!

Personally, I don't have an answer for any of them, but would like to see answers too. Not sure why this bet couldn't be made at Penn, but ya never know. Maybe someone can reply with answers.

This is the press release from Penn, so it looks like the reduced takeout will be good for PA bettors as well.

So today was the first time it was on the tote..

and courtesy the longshot in the Belmont R8... $54 winner.... and the other decently priced winner Villenava in the 9th 6f race.

the payout of this bet was

Bet Type Runners Pay Out
$1 Pick 4 8/3/2,6,7,8,9,12/1 16716.80

Now, I didnt even bet this today as my ADW did not show the 0.50 bet and when I tried the $1 wager, it kept clearing my runners and I got frustrated did not play this. Although I see myself playing this as long as I can figure out the false favs correctly

Belmont $717 Penn $40

I will try next Thursday and see if my ADWs carry the bet
