Lexington, the horse in the 1850's

I stumbled on this one from the Kentucky PBS station. Hadn't ever heard about this horse.

On Saturday mornings on HRRN Kurt Becker relates stories about old-time horses, very well done and sometimes fascinating.

There's a novel about him and his groom, title is simply "Horse", author is Geraldine Brooks. Gets into his progeny in closing chapters, including Preakness. It's a novel but it appears to be well researched and pretty close to the facts of what happened.
