Look on every player who saw Damar on the ground makes me feel things are real bad. Kudos to players and coaches for stepping off the field.

Prayers to Damar Hamlin, 24 years old.

I didn't see the hit but apparently it did not seem as bad as the result. He got up after the play and then collapsed. They just announced he is in critical condition but did not say why. Game suspended for tonight. Finally

Chest.

Many heart and ER personnel suggesting on twitter commotio cordis (cardiac concussion). A direct hit on the left ventricle at precisely the wrong moment of the heart's rhythm.

Critical to get external fibrillation and CPR within 3 minutes. I'm hoping/praying that was the case.

He started a charity to buy gifts for underpriveleged kids, with a goal of $2500.

At 11pm last night, it had $750,000 in it.
This morning, $3.5 Million!

His Mother was in the stands and rushed to to his side as he was being given CPR.

Never seen anything like it before.

"The NFL was dumb not to cancel the game earlier" is what I first read on Twitter not knowing what happened since I was checking the score and this was 10:30 pm at night but I thought it was strange seeing the game in the 1st quarter still at this time as the game is usually wrapped up by then; I went to Twitter (of all places ) and saw that headline from an account which I was suspicious about than reading more and more that Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and the game was suspended! Like Tom said I've never seen anything like that before

Praying for him and his family what an awful feeling on both sides of the field (Bills and Bengals) to witness this along with the family

I just checked the GoFundme a few minutes ago now $3,737,200! Awesome!

Thoughts and prayers for this young man. Looks like he just took a vicious hit to the chest at the wrong time. I have a feeling the fact he was put in a medically induced coma was a bad sign, I sure hope I am wrong.

That is absolutely correct. I mentioned that in post 3 at 9:59 last night of this thread. Coaches, got together with head ref and agreed amongst themselves to not play. I could tell that by observing. Don't let the NFL or these idiot talking heads tell you different. If it was up to the NFL they would have continued the game.

I don't actually see a huge problem with this.

These are grown men playing a violent game and being paid a fortune for the privilege to do so.

There's nothing that can be done for this guy by the players on the field. Why not continue the game?

Is it going to be THAT MUCH different in the next days when they eventually resume the game? Is Damar going to be back on the sidelines? He may or may not even make it...

Are they going to cancel the season if he (God forbid) dies?

The whole thing is a little ridiculous.

Our society has become insanely soft.

If he died right there on the field, yeah, definitely cancel the game. But he didn't...unless the Bills were so broken up they couldn't carry on as a team (and that is highly unlikely given these guys are basically all narcissists anyway), they should have continued the game.
