Charles Town Race 9

hey all...was playing Delta and ended up watching the 9th from Ctown and I bet the 6 horse that didnt run much, but what caught my is the chokehold the jockey slapped on the 3/5 scooter davis trained horse...he was pulling him up out of the gate...and it looked like the horse was rank but I watched it again and it looks like the horse is rank cause the choke job isnt being appreciated....interesting tactics lol

Early on, looked like maybe the jock lost the left iron and was trying to stay balanced, but down the back I have no clue what he was doing.

(For those that think this way, Betfair was done for the night, couldn't lay that horse).

This ride certainly looked bad. I agree that the horse looked rank because of the restraining tactics.

I just watched the replay and I think there was probably some sort of equipment problem the entire way, more than just the early lost iron. The jockey looks like he can't control the horse.

One thing's for certain, he was able to slow the horse down.

The chart says the jockey told the stewards that it was an ill fitting bridle.

Good work by the track, stewards and Equibase to get that info out somehow, hopefully the trainer gets a nice fine for that.

I agree. This was very unfair for the bettors who backed this one at 3/5.

That isn't exactly virgin territory for Scooter Davis.

This horse had almost zero chance of winning this race before the latch was sprung. A refund should have been in order. What's to stop any unscrupulous trainer from doing the same thing intentionally?

I wasn't disagreeing one bit. Scooter Davis is as unscrupulous a trainer as there is. Just check all the rulings against him. If Dutrow is suspended 10 years, Davis should get 100.

I agree. This type of thing can't be tolerated.

Just when you thought you have seen or heard all of the excuses of losing....
