having vet students from the school do inspections would be a disaster. I can tell you from experience, there are people that have been involved with race horses for years that still can't recognize a lame horse from a sound horse. And the first time a student says a horse is lame that isn't the shits gonna hit the fan. Two state/track employed vets can easily make the rounds in three to four hours, the morning of the races, and check every individual animal out. Don't let anybody tell you any different. I cannot believe this isn't happening. I'm quite confident it's happening at most, if not all other tracks in the country. At least the major tracks. This just amazes me.

Saw some discussion on track speed. These are the top 10 fastest tracks according the new rating I've been using to rate them, 1 to 10 scale with 10 the fastest.

Evvvverything about data from Marquis Downs supports his assertion.

A horse who ran the fastest 6 furlongs of the season at MD (1:11)(Beyers of 58 and 60) for the past two years running, and each in $3200 claiming affairs, returned to lose by 18 lengths at Lethbridge, Alberta, in another $3200 claimer.

The same horse began his career 1-for-19, and lost twice for $2000 claiming in mid-2018 prior to netting the swiftest 6f time of the MD season.

(Just because Groovy and Gulch never raced there, doesn't mean the course isn't greased lightning )

Dude, what you say is true, but that wasn't the message I was conveying to CJ......For CJ's "work" purposes, meaning when was the last time he actually produced figures for MD to be purchased at DRF.....

I don't think we provide PPs. I do figures mostly because the horses show up at other tracks where there is a pretty good following. Same as doing figures for Fair Meadows in Tulsa, for example. The racing isn't much but a lot show up at Remington Park.

This reminds me of posters who have said they don't play tracks with synthetic surfaces.

But don't they have to handicap races run on synthetic surfaces when playing a dirt track?
