“David Ogden Stiers,

“David Ogden Stiers, best known for his role as the arrogant surgeon Major Charles Emerson Winchester III on ‘M*A*S*H,’ died Saturday. He was 75.” Some us will remember him marching a captured North Korean military band around the MASH compound playing Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet.

Watching him on TV today. 75? Wow, been that long.
He was very good in that role. I didn't think Frank Burns could be replaced, but he did a good job.

Funniest one I remember is Klinger talking about his sister, Honoria and he called her Hon-a-rea!

He did a good job replacing Frank Burns, from the Massachusetts Institute of Snobbery, lol.

I loved both the movie and the series. Really great writing and the acting was sensational, RIP David.

Charles Emerson Winchester III was better known than Stiers himself.

I always thought he could have been a very good actor if given a juicy role or two.

When I heard about his death, this was the first thing I thought about. Those plummy New England tones on MASH (even though he was from the midwest).
He will be missed.
