NY Horse Racing June 1
Looks like June 1 is when NY can begin to race again. It’s probably certain Belmont will start at the end haha of that week. Finally!

Does this mean it's safe for us to go back to arguing about Saratoga?

I was watching Cuomo on YouTube's NBC News channel when he discussed his decision to reopen the tracks. The comments under the video are mostly a total dislike/hatred of horse racing. It is amazing that some people have no clue about the love and care that the vast majority of horses receive. SMH.

it is all about money. ny is going to be hurting going forward. he sees the huge handle increases all over the country. he also realized people have to take care of the horses and go to the track every day no matter what. the people at belmont and at all tracks have really done a great job.

yes. i know him from when he was at hud and i was at fannie mae. i also already know there will be no racing at saratoga this summer. the governor's office does not believe the number of hospital beds in the area is adequate. they will be running at belmont through the fall. the saratoga meet will be cancelled.

you might learn something. the governor's office is very concerned about the exodus of many industries from new york. horse racing being one of them, although not nearly close to the top of the list. the state was already broke facing deficits primarily due to medicaid. the emergence of artificial intelligence over the next 5-10 years will likely put an end to the huge revenues new york receives from wall street. the future is very bleak for new york if it does not figure out how to deal with the "robot" tax issue. there is simply no longer a reason for firms to stay in places like new york city. it is not just the banking/financial sectors either. the large tax revenues produced from corporate law firms is likely gone as well. the legal/financial sectors will essentially be controlled by ai by the year 2025 and they won't be run out of new york.
