hat would avg out to about 6 thousand dollars a month in his pocket which would equate to 72 thousand dollars a year. while not just balling he's making a nice living riding horses. there are alot of people here that don't make 72 thousand dollars a year.
about chantel, if you are going to grip about her loss in the stake you have to give her props for booting home the 10 to 1 shot in the first yesterday

This is how it was explained to me by a jockey.......
- Jockey earns 10% of the owners 60% on a win.
- The agent takes 25% of the jockey's 10%
- The valet gets 5% of the jockey's 10%
- Depending on where your racing the IRS or Revenue Canada take between 30% to 50% of the leftover amount. (Woodbine jocks lose 50% to Revenue Canada)
-Then they have Jockey dues and other expenses, so they don't take home as much as you think.
For every $100 000 in a jocks purse structure, he/she will take home between $3000 to $3500..... not enough in my opinion for putting your life on the line.

Chantel and her family will be boarding a plane this week for Dubai and the Big Cup.
I wish her a safe and winning trip out in the desert where she once did some excercise riding . Before she became a jockey.
I'll be watching and rooting for her and G.O.D.Though they have plenty of international competition , it would be huge if they won .

Isn't that HOW you get to be a top ten jockey - by missing meals?
= Me after missing a meal

Chantel is in so cal not to ride but rather act and model. Riding is second priority to her now. She will soon be marrying and i wouldnt be surprised if she is retired in next couple of years. She is no Rosie that wants to WIN WIN WIN

If she is serious about modeling, why did she turn down the Playboy pictorial. She could have done tasteful non-nude shots. I view her as giving a lot of lip service about what she wants to be, but when it is time to put up and follow through on what she claims to be she does not necessary follow through.
If she is serious about acting why did she not request a larger role in Luck. I am sure the producers of the show would have been ecstatic to have a jockey with a known name be a part of the show.

Yeah, what a bitch huh? Instead of busting her hump riding horses for low pay, she would rather work part time making millions and be treated like a Princess everywhere she goes.
What the hell is wrong with her?

We should all be so blessed.
The looks, she has aced, she's a beautiful young woman. The acting, being a difficult craft, may involve long hours of study. Either road taken, one can easily have good wishes to Chantal.
And, while speaking of such--good wishes for Rosie, as well. She's an outstanding rider, at the top of her game.
