So true...and yet...not until JUST NOW...JUST THIS VERY MOMENT...did we hit 600,000 dead worldwide (602,695 per JH website).
So let's see...Johns Hopkins website started tracking worldwide deaths in January...that was six months ago.
The average flu season lasts for about 6-8 months.
Congrats to COVID-19. It has finally caught up to a bad flu season in terms of worldwide deaths...six months into this thing....with no vaccine to mitigate it, UNLIKE the flu (but we are hiding in our basements and wearing masks, so there's that).

One more time. Are you assuming it will be over in 6-8 months?
A virus for the world, if we are lucky is 18 months to 2 years away until large-scale distribution. Most professionals are projecting at least a second wave and current indications that we are seeing now here in the U.S.indicates the first wave is not yet over.
It has just moved inland
Btw, I told you a ways back, when you were claiming the "flu" laughs at the coronavirus, and were gushing over Mexico, as a "miracle of hands-off epidemiology", it had not hit the third world countries. What do you think will happen to many impoverished countries, with impoverished health care systems, when covid-19 flares up there without ICUJ's and doctors and hospitals?
Take a closer look at Mexico, Brazil and Argentina now and try to imagine what happens if it devastates the poorer parts of Africa. Unfortunately the trend is undeniable.
Remember hospitalizations and fatalities lag daily cases..

I thought we were getting along and then you blow your stack over "gush!" Why? Your inclination to "herd immunity" is one of your themes. That's what Mexico initially tried. Herd immunity is a hands off approach. You started a thread about Sweden doing the same.

According to epidemiologists, policymakers and the like, half the Mexican population should be wiped out in a matter of months...right guys?

Why the outrage when the regular flu is more than 3 times as deadly as the Wuhan flu? Always follow the money, especially the $10 billion HHS is giving to hospital with high infection rates. They are purposely bumping up the rate for $$$$$$$.

5 Dem Governors responsible for the death of 60,000 elderly
Half the covid deaths since March. The mortality rate plummets.

Quintessential examples of why some of us call Democrats dimwits. All five of these meatheads were too dense to intuit that elderly people are at the highest end of the risk spectrum. Unbelievable!

When folks post graph after graph with various numbers regarding this virus and make various proclamations they are buying into a critical, extremely important premise that in reality appears not to be true. And that premise is that we are working with GOOD data when it comes to analyzing the key aspects of this virus like number of deaths and number of positives.
Another one of multiple examples:
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...-19-cases-cdc/
More and more we are discovering that differences exist in the way these two key metrics are defined/determined between different states, agencies, and organizations. And some of these "inconsistencies" would seem to be due to gross incompetence, if not outright fraud/agenda-driven.
Until the data is cleaned up, it is going to be very difficult to make realistic assessments regarding the current and future impacts of covid19. IMO a cleaned up data set is going to show that this virus is clearly in the downswing phase and that we can continue our return to a more normal life that existed prior to the shutdown. Meanwhile the MSM and others are not interested in a cleaned up data set and reality assessment of the covid19 because it interferes with their POLITICAL motives to promote an anti-Trump agenda. Therefore they must continue to incite fear, doom, and gloom.

It is interesting that many would question the reliability of data from "official sources" while accepting unverified claims and - in some cases - outright distortions from fake-news sites like Gateway Pundit.
https://www.newsguardtech.com/wp-con...ndit.com-2.pdf
Further, it doesn't take a rocket scientist with a bunch of stats to know that 500 dead bodies outside hospitals in one city today, tells us something is spiking when three weeks ago there was only 100.
There are lies, damn lies, and statistics. Be careful who you trust.

Please name the city and hospital where there are 500 bodies outside?
Sounds like a logistics problem. Not something that you use as a barometer........I’m sure the hospital has reported/counted those deaths. Using these refrig. Trucks etc for shock value is bull
