Ky Derby Futures at Wynn Las Vegas
I understand the 2015 Kentucky Derby future book opens this morning at Wynn Las Vegas. Apparently there are more than 250 horses available, which is the largest initial group ever offered there. The twitter feed @Derbycontenders has been posting individual odds upon request for those who want prices.

So any thoughts on Cozmic One vs. Jess's Dream?
I guess we should start off by asking who everyone thought was better, Rachel Alexandra or Zenyatta?

As for the sons of the Great Ones. Question is... will we see a start from either this year?

A horse I'm contemplating for a futures bet is --> Curlino.
The colts first start on 9-13-14 was a MSW at 6 1/2 furlongs in which he went off as the favorite at CD and finished third.
The chart read "Curlino was unhurried early, swung into the six path in the turn with some gain in the stretch run." He gained in position at every call.
The colt has been working lately and so I expect the horse to break the maiden soon in order to be ready for the many Graded Stakes races that await.

Curlino is entered today in the 3rd at Keeneland. The colt stretches out to 1 1/16 miles from the #1 post.
2-year-olds are some of the most honest horses on the racetrack. They only know what they have been trained to do and that is to run as fast as they can for as far as they are able.
Hopefully it won't take too many attempts to break the maiden. \o/

CURLINO
Curlino graduates on 3rd try.
Kudos to Curlino / Casse / Bridgmohan.
This colt appears to be versatile regarding running style and the horse enjoys (has heart ,,,,,,,, courage) the competition....

Interested in Daredevil's updated price.
If he's 200-1 or something, after his last-place finish in the BCJ and failure to work, and I had info that he was sound and preparing a campaign, he'd be interesting off the unfortunate trip in the Juvenile.

Awesome pedigrees. Would be cool if they turn out to be good.

I made my first future book Derby bet since 1995 (Tejano Run) this year. I have $100 on FIRING LINE at 125-1. I was a bit surprised to see him in the Los Alamitos Futurity as Simon Callaghan told me via a twitter exchange that he was leaning towards the Sham. Apparently, this colt is doing very good. I think a good 2nd behind Dortmund would be a step in the right direction (or, of course, beating Dortmund would be better).
His sire, Line of David, was best going long and won the 2010 Arkansas Derby at 17-1 over next out Kentucky Derby winner, Super Saver.
His dam, Sister Girl Blues, was 2nd in the G1 2003 Vanity by two lengths to the great, Azeri, at 1M 1/8.
Also a couple of generations back on the female family tree is superstar filly Gorgeous. She won the G1 Ashland, G1 Hol Oaks, G1 Vanity and G2 Apple Blossom. She was also 2nd in the 1989 BC Distaff.
I guess we'll see if he's the real deal on Saturday.
