Del Mar Fall Meet **TRACK PHANTOM**

11-7-14

R1 MDN CLM 20K – 1M - DIRT

#5 WILD CAROLINE 2-1 Baze
#6 MANGO REWARD 15-1 Pereira
#2 DIAMOND FLUSH 7-2 Desormeaux
#1 SHE’S DISCREET 5-2 Nakatani

#5 WILD CAROLINE
3 YO filly really stands out in this spot. She was 3rd vs better two back (4th was Lamazone, a return winner over some in here). In a strong race for the level last out. Sprint to route.

#6 MANGO REWARD
Willing to look past last when she stumbled at the break. Was 8 behind top choice 2 back in a very strong race. She has been facing better. A nice drill since last. One more shot at this level.

I like your in here. She could steal this on on the front end.

R6 MSW 56K – 1M - TURF

#6 SWEETER THANCANDY 6-1 Stevens
#9 DYNA STAR 9-2 Trujillo
#8 PURE 5-1 Desormeaux
#3 SCANDAL 8-1 Smith

#6 SWEETER THANCANDY
Very interesting longshot. She did the same thing off the break in both starts. She took two strides and then had bad action and lost position. She had a big late move in last. Bred to go longer. Dam a 600k turf winner. Stevens been up in the AM.

#9 DYNA STAR
Rallied as a 39-1 debut runner for Hollendorfer. Nice pedigree for the grass. Outworked rail runner on 10-30. Wants longer.

R6 MDN CLM 20K – 5.5F - DIRT

#9 PRECIOUS CAROLINE 10-1 Stra
#1 ROSA DIVINA 5-2 Van Dyke
#4 SOUTHERN OWAH 3-1 Antongrgi
#3 SUNDAY STROLL 10-1 Trujillo

#9 PRECIOUS CAROLINE
Extremely weak field. This one is dropping out of a very tough race. 6th place finisher came back to run 2nd in a 65k allw at 25-1. 3rd and 4th both came back to win vs MSW. Trainer only 3 wins in 61 starts but one of the wins ridden by Stra at 11-1.

#1 ROSA DIVINA
Most likely winner, never been worse than 4th. Holds the top synth Beyer. She may not have enough speed to hold the rail.

R3 MDN CLM 30K – 5.5F - DIRT

#9 FROGGY FRESH 5-1

#3 SEEK SAFE HARBOR 15-1
#8 LADY DEDLOCK 7-2
#2 KAT’S HURRICANE 8-1

#9 FROGGY FRESH
Trainer D’Amato is 3 for 5 going MSW to MC in the last 6 months. The 3 winners came in off of defeats of 18, 30, 31 lengths. Showed confidence giving this filly a try in MSW in her debut. 9th and 11th place finishers came back to win a GG MSW and a SA mc75k. Love the work pattern since her debut, every 6 days.

#3 SEEK SAFE HARBOR
This race winner feels like it will come from a second time starter who improves in their second start. This one was bet in the debut at 7-1. She pressed a fast early pace from the far outside. Clockers say she looks good in the AM. Mora 2 for 6 with maiden 2nd timers.

#4 COUNTING QUEENS 3-1
#9 DISCREET FLIRT 5-1
#2 AGUACITA 5-2
#1 VICTORIA FALLS 4-1

#4 COUNTING QUEENS
Two-year old filly was working in tandem with debut winner, Great Lou. Great Lou started at this level and won wire to wire by 4 lengths. Great Lou came back to crush again in optional claiming on Thursday as the favorite. Tote may not matter as Great Lou was sent off at 26-1 in his easy debut win.

#9 DISCREET FLIRT
Was in with stakes company in her debut vs males. Came out of that race to run 2nd at Santa Rosa. Both starts with blinkers on were very poor. She popped and stopped each time. Blinkers come off and two very fast works since her last start and both without blinkers.

#7 WHERE’S THE MOON 6-1 Trujillo
#6 OH NEWMAN 3-1 Van Dyke
#1 MR. CHASE 5-1 Pedroza
#5 CHESTER B 6-1 Perez

#7 WHERE’S THE MOON
Absolutely love the breeding for the route. All kinds of route winners on the female tree leading back to millionaire Althea who was 6 for 10 in routes. Miller/Trujillo just had a 2nd timer 2YO go from sprint to a mile and drop to MC and win by 10.

#6 OH NEWMAN
Has been facing much tougher. Good 3rd in last when off at 2-1. Two next out winners from the race two back. Breeding says sprint thought and might be overbet here. Consideration.

R3 MSW 56K – 6F - DIRT
#1 STEAM PLAY 2-1 Garcia
#4 LOST IN D SHUFFLE 3-1 Talamo
#6 SERBIAN SYCLONE 8-1 Trujillo
#5 BLUE LAW 5-1 Desormeaux

#1 STEAM PLAY
Baffert 13 for 34 (38%) w/ debut 2YO in Nov/Dec the last 5 yrs. Sold for 13x the sire fee. Work on 11-6 was unreal. He worked with Tap It Rich (fav in ’13 BC Juv). He outbroke him, ran together and then dusted him by 4 lengths in the stretch.

#4 LOST IN D SHUFFLE
Got away slow in the debut but found a little something late to split the field. Winner came back to run a close 2nd in the G3 Bing Crosby Sat. Sib, Wild Dude, is a G2 winning sprinter.
