All time leader in total bases...he is over 700 bases ahead of Stan Musial, who is 2nd all time.
Also ranks 3rd in lifetime hits behind Rose and Cobb

My uncle was the attorney for the company that produced ‘home run derby’ and took me to a recording of the show with Hank vs Eddie Mathews. I can’t remember much because I was all of nine-years-old but that I was more interested in Eddie than Hank. I got a signed ball and briefly became a Braves fan until I started to go to Dodger games and discovered Sandy Koufax.

One thing about Aaron. He had longevity and consistency throughout his MLB career. I remember how easy it was predicting how many HR he would hit in the upcoming season. 44. That was his jersey number his whole career (except for his rookie year, I think he was #5 then). He hit that number of homers and right around that number pretty often.
As a couple of other posters mentioned he was not just a HR hitter. Heck, he batted over .300 most years and hit .355 one year. He had that great wrist action when hitting and made fielding his position look easy. A truly fine athlete and a class act all the way.
