Any city or county jurisdiction I have ever been in hits you with a tax based on your gross receipts. I am sure a convenience store pays a good amount of that tax compared to net profit, compared to say an auto body shop or hell, maybe a machine shop, especially the small "podunk" kind. The podunk is a shout out to one of the 100's of insults Cliffy hurled at me.
When I had employees and was an OEM my profit subtracting all expenses but income taxes represented 60-70% of gross sales. Then I became an army of one with the occasional part timer, down sized, moving to the low rent district. Now my profit subtracting all expenses but income taxes represents 75-85% of gross sales.
The gross sales of a convenience store has to huge compared to what the owner puts in their pocket. The convenience store owner is more than paying their fair share (Democrat terminology) of taxes that should pay for services like police and fire department. In fact I bet if you crunch the numbers convenience stores pay a higher percentage of local taxes compared to their profits than most other businesses.
Tishaura Jones is a dumbass that knows nothing about businesses, she seems to be the stereotypical mayor running crime ridden shit hole cities. Another DEI hire by the voting populace. I have read now that using the term DEI hire is racist. I will counter with would a male white person as dumb as Tishaura Jones get elected as mayor of St. Louis?
Looking at all these Democrat piss poor chocolate mayors, shout out to Mayor Adams bragging of all the chocolate on his staff, I seriously wonder are there any smart black people that are not Republicans? Serious question.
As for my personal sharing of business profits that is with me not drawing a salary.
