Key Races Blog, Other Blogs & Picks for Saturday 5/30

This week’s KEY RACES & BETS blog (& podcast) covers a trio of races at Santa Anita including the Honeymoon Stakes, in which I think there’s going to be a “Lone Front Runner.” Alto on the blog is a great betting race, the Camilla Urso Stakes at Golden Gate, a five and one-half furlong turf dash with a 14 horse field. https://www.amwager.com/santa-anita-...ay-may-30-2020

Speaking of 14 horse fields, the Old Forester Mint Julep Stakes drew a full field of 14 and there’s a PAIR of horses opening at 20/1 I plan to key with win bets and exactas.

I really, truly and sincerely hope some of you played the Mint Julep as I did and had listed on the blog. Although La Signare lost by a head, the "exacta as a place bet" strategy (taught to me by the late Dick Mitchell) worked out well as Secret Message (25/1) beat La Signare (21/1) for a $522 (for $1) exacta.

We also got lucky in the Camilla Urso at Golden Gate with Tomlin (one of two overlays from fair odds) winning at 14/1 over one of the other contenders at 5/2.

Thanks for reading.
