Right, and how much did the owners spend to buy the horses? I really don't know, that is why I'm asking. I would be very surprised if Pletcher's owners show a net profit for the year, or even close to one.

Well, that would depend on how much interest the owner-while-racing retains in the horse after syndication. Of course, one could include the sale price to the stud farm/syndicate as income.
