You're right. China never laid down a tariff on an American good till Trump was President.

Currency manipulation combined with a maze of rules to protect everything Chinese.

Tariff rate, applied, simple mean, all products (%) in China was reported at 7.76 % in 2016, according to the World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially recognized sources.

Tariffs aren't the issue with China. Its subsidies and IP theft.
Like I said keep throwing...

I wouldnt have started by backing out of a massive multilateral trade deal that would have addressed some of them. Then followed up by pissing off all of our major allies and trading partners who have similar complaints with them.

Are you saying that tariffs on Chinese steel aren't the solution to IP theft?

It's going GREAT so far!
Relationships with Allies are at an all-time low. DJIA has been flat since this began and its escalating.
So far this Administration has announced a total of ZERO trade deals (maybe 1 in SK can't remember).
The rest of the world has signed a bunch though. TPP11, CETA, RCEP (Chinas TPP) are all becoming a reality.

Shocking I know.
Large multilateral deals with large economies setting global trade standards in terms of licensing and rights though... that might help do the trick.
Or large multinational pressure.
The hilarity right now is China is seeking an ally in the EU, of all places, in their mutual fight against US trade belligerence.

You guys do not have a clue, the CFR & George Soros have been way too chummy with China who is in position to rule the New World Order. Even without Soros and the CFR China was well on tract to hit all goals. Now most do not buy into this with half the country lit on reefer and the other working 60+ hours a week. Note this: we are locked in to watch fortunes crumble with this shit that everyone will share in. Relatively small coverage today compared to what will be by years end, Europe will have to fold to the USA or its union will crash burn. But that is nothing compared to how bad China is going to flip out if they miss just one product cycle. Right here we are going to have much fun on this subject, count on it.

Chinese stock market at two year low. I wonder.....who will win this very small skirmish. Excellent opportunity to make some big time cash in stock market.

OMG! FLAT?!?!?
The horror!
Don't worry...with GE out of the picture, it will probably start looking better...the entire thing is one big survivorship bias anyway, so it doesn't really matter when you think about it.
