Mrs. Pete was already the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, when he signed up for the US Naval Reserve. He was in Naval intelligence and wore a shirt and tie throughout his time in Afghanistan.

The only time Mrs. Pete wore a uniform was the day he came home and disembarked the returning airplane. The stage was set for the cameras to roll along with the photographers capturing the 'war hero' --ha, ha, ha-- in full military attire, just as The Mayoress wanted and set-up.

This was just an earlier attempt by the ignorant, the lunatics and liberals to make Mrs. Pete come across as some real tough guy. The little sissy isn't tough one bit. But sweet Pete is a phony, that's for sure.
