Wow, what devastating news
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-rac...man-dies-at-18
Quote:
Dorman was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare genetic disorder affecting many body parts. He experienced frequent seizures. He was unable to walk or speak, relying on a tablet to communicate. His father, Kelly, estimated that his son had undergone between 40 and 50 operations, including open-heart surgery.
"With Cody's diagnosis at birth, we always knew this day would come, but we were determined to help Cody live his best life for however long we had him. Anyone who has seen him at the racetrack, especially around Cody's Wish, understands that in many ways he taught us all how to live, always keeping a positive attitude and being more concerned about those around him than himself," said the family.

Rest in peace Cody Dorman.

It is very sad but I read the family knew this day would come: I believe Cody's Wish gave Cody joy over the past few years-- this story really does need to be a movie- RIP

Sad day. His sister got very emotional after Cody's Wish won - in hindsight, I wonder if the family knew Cody's time was drawing near. One of the best horse racing stories of recent years and may his memory be for a blessing. RIP Cody.

He'll certainly be in the thoughts of racing for years to come.
A brave battle by the young man.

Awful, sad news. I wonder that he knew it was time to go since it was CW's last start.

My prayers to this family, nothing comes close to losing a child. My youngest was in a coma and in a children's hospital for several weeks eventually pulling through but it was the most terrifying experience of my life when I was told the day of his procedure that he may not make it through the night. You watch other families who lose their child in these hospitals and it's heart wrenching. I don't know how they go on with life afterward but with prayer I hope it's possible. God bless.

Very sad news.
At least his family, the connections of the horse, the racing media, and racing in general did a lot to make his life as pleasant as possible.
