What NEVER gets mentioned is that at any given moment in time less than a million people are positive in the USA. So 1 of every 400. Many of those 1 in 400 are symptom free and the death rate for that 1 person is 0.5%, skewed toward the sick and elderly.

Of course dailty cases are lagging indicators. daily deaths have stayed roughly the same since late June. Hovering around 1000 per day.
