Preparing for Saratoga Meet - An Owner's Prep

As the owner of several horses aiming for Saratoga - this is always an interesting month.

There are races at Belmont (and Monmouth) which might be good - or we can primarily focus on the meet in Saratoga.

Right now, we have 3 fillies - all from the same mare, Miss Matzo.

Miss Matzoball - 4 year old - stakes winner in Gulfstream.
Moonshine Cate - 3 year old - ran once as 2 year old and spent months growing and getting ankles ready for the next season.
Kinky Sox - 2 year old - maturing quickly.

We are now aiming Miss Matzoball - who took 3 weeks off on a farm after several races in April and May - for a Stakes race in Saratoga on July 31. She is "fresh" and we want to have her really ready to go for the season.

Moonshine Cate is working towards a race in Belmont on July 9th - where she will start the season.

And, Kinky Sox we are aiming towards a late summer start in Saratoga.

The excitement builds and there are several dozen horses arriving every week in Saratoga now to prepare for the meet.

Stay tuned. I will post some video from the workouts.

Enjoy! That really must be something even starting a horse at Toga. And Miss Matzoball ain't Chopped Liver either, very good horse. Don't really know about the other starter but the third, a 2yo though is a blank slate, you never know. Good Luck!
