Not sure what is hard to understand. Horseracing isn't profitable anymore. So they want to venture into the casino game as well. They know what is profitable and its casino gaming these days.

You Get it. If they weren't a horse racing company who was granted a gambling license on the backs of the industry, they never would have been able to be a 'gaming company' in the first place.

As a business it doesn't appear it is. That is why you see racinos popping up everywhere.

Your original statement appeared as though you were offering a conclusion.
Perhaps the sport overall isn't turning a profit. However there are several major racing associations that are in relatively good financial health despite the absence of casino money.
