I realize Romo talks fast and a lot, but I think his instincts are good and he provides some useful commentary.

No doubt, announcers of any kind are easy targets.

I don't mind Romo, but John Madden taught networks that in football, the analysts, not the play by play announcers, are the stars. So they are encouraged to talk after every play even if they have nothing to add.

I was indifferent at first. But after watching him predict 5 plays in a row during a game, I started listening closer. He can anticipate more than other announcers and that gives him a leg up.

I have read that CBS was not happy with him last year, that they thought the quality of his work dropped off a lot and he wasn't prepared for games. So there's that. But I'm more with you, where I hear him predict where plays are going over and over and so I pay attention to what he says. I find him entertaining most of the time.

Everyone has a popular announcer they cannot stand. I remember Chick Hearn would apologize for talking too much to the TV audience when he was doing a simulcast.
If you watch baseball on Apple TV there is an option to listen to your local radio announcers

I agree he is very knowledgeable about the game, it is just the never pausing to take a breath types drive me nuts. The late Tim McCarver doing baseball was another one.

Interesting information, about time someone did that. I cannot do sports streaming, weak wireless internet and cell signals here.

It's clear Jim Nantz hates Romo.

I watched Sunday Night Football last night and even though I was stressed thinking KC Chiefs money line was a given to cash a ticket, I had no issues with the announcing.
Romo is the problem, not me.

Which would make him... just like half of the analysts Nantz has worked with over the years! :P

Check out stretch call of Wednesday, Nov. 1 sixth race. She gets so excited she loses her voice and can't complete the order of finish beyond gasping out the name of the winner.

Sounds like she had a phlegm wad rear it's ugly head at the wrong moment. No chance to clear her throat.

I watch PHA almost every race day and she has definitely improved.

Bitch of a stretch call

Check out her stretch call of Wednesday's fifth race, where she blurts out "bitch" as the horses near the wire.

This is a distortion of what happened. She obviously got tongue tied as she was saying "bid" and a horse rallying behind that horse had "butch" in it's name and the result was a bit ugly. She didn't just blurt out Bitch.
