Dahoss would definitely fit the bill.......

How can I disagree with you when you make perfect sense?
If TVG possessed "real" handicapping talent to provide the analysis for their races, the show would be looked upon in an entirely different light.
The thinking that seems to prevail in the running of these horse racing shows is that the handicapping presentations need to be "dumbed down", in order to appeal to the young crowd that the game is so eager to attract.
So, instead of hiring competent handicappers who could prove to the audience that this is a legitimate gambling game that could be beaten in the long run if the effort is made to become proficient in playing it...they employ pseudo-handicappers -- who promote ridiculous wagers...and then joke about their depleted wagering accounts.
If the recent online poker craze proved anything...it's the fact that the young people are willing to work hard to learn how to play a gambling game...provided they see that the game is BEATABLE; even if it takes great effort to beat it!
A few guys like Dahoss could completely revitalize horse race programming, IMO...especially now that the other forms of "skilled" gambling are being suppressed in this country.
But it takes progressive leadership to make moves like these...and that's where this game is lacking...
