Messier bled coming out of his race, which explains the performance.

The quality of the 2-year-olds are much better on the East Coast versus what Cave Rock ever faced in California. That is why he folded. Same notion with Speed Boat Beach.

Laurel River was a vet's scratch.

Speed Boat Beach was another case of running in the wrong race so a trainer could avoid himself.
