You can't act if everything is a joke or funny, basically that is Alec Baldwin's SOP and is a proven idiot for it. Taking a minute to understand the moving parts and what they do in relationship to everything else was all that was needed. They should crucify him.

Her attorney says a live round was put in with the blanks by someone wanting to do harm

Someone supposedly put some live rounds in the box of "dummy" rounds but she still handled the live round and loaded it into the gun. I don't know what the difference is between a dummy round and a blank, if there is any, but it seems like an armorer should be able to tell the difference between it and a live round.

Just muddying the water a little to provide a viable defense. I don't see how it works though. The armorer is responsible at all times for what occurs on set. Even if a live round had been inserted, she should have checked the gun again before calling it cold. Honestly, the guns should be in her possession or close proximity at ALL times. There is no defense for negligence.

To me the buck stops with Baldwin, never trust what anyone says about a gun you pick up or are handed. It was a revolver, probably the least complicated type gun to check to see if it is loaded.

Why was a real gun left out where some could access it in the first place?

Come on Ralph. Even a blindman can tell the difference between a blank and a bullet. Or a Bullet and a dummy round.
Blank... crimped casing end.
Live round... projectile inserted in casing.
Dummy round... projectile in casing primer drilled.

A laymen could tell each... a trained paid professional gun wrangler sure as hell should be able to at a glance. But then again a cold gun should be loaded with air... simple inspection, hell a quick glance at the edge of the cylinder would of spotted brass. In the end the last preson in the chain is responsible to check condition.

Baldwin getting sued by someone on set, and not a gunshot victim, or their family.

This should set the stage for everybody on set suing, the ambulance chasing lawyers will have a field day.

I think Baldwin is lying. I have a .357 S&W model 19-2 revolver. Looking down the barrel as I pulled the hammer back and watching cylinder position , not until the gun is fully cocked and locked would the bullet be aligned with the barrel, and the firing pin with the primer. Baldwin claimed the gun wasn't fully cocked.

The worst case scenario with what Baldwin said probably would have been a misfire that could injure the shooter. I think most likely nothing would happen, unless that prop gun is far different than mine. I don't think they make .45 caliber rim fire bullets, that I know of.
