I'm still getting a chuckle out of this thread. The premise is that the Baffert team was sooooo concerned about their stud (who had been 1/20 in his previous start) that they had to juice Justify. According to the crackpots, the public felt that he deserved 9/10 that day, but that Baffert was willing to risk everything just to make sure of getting in the CD gate.

Rewatch this video as Mike Smith toys the field with a hand ride. The pull your head out.

Way to miss the point.

A test result for an overage of a banned substance was covered up in a closed session (and chairman of CHRB has had horses trained by Baffert) and nobody was informed. It was a positive for an illegal substance.

There is a reason it’s banned over a certain limit.... intention isn't the main point here, accidental or on purpose doesn't matter. Not sure why you can't get that.

However, if you read the studies, 300 is an insanely high level for accidental food contamination, which is where the intentional suspicions come in.

........and the other problem of course is that IF there is that high a level of contamination in the hay/feed/straw over there at SA, they have/had a pretty big problem on their hands, which also needed to be investigated, not swept under the rug.

This level of contamination would have called for a broad announcement to each and every horseman and barn on the premises!! To not do so is utterly irresponsible.

This speaks to safety.

So.... we still need to know what the levels were for the other horses tested. To know whether they have as severe a contamination level of this stuff in their bedding/feed......so that whoever is supplying it needs to be looked into.

From the article

In trying to identify a pool of possible trainers for a new program of OOCT, I would suggest using the trainer stats from the Daily Racing Form and prioritizing those trainers that have achieved and maintained over three to six months a percentage of 25 percent or higher in the following categories:

First time starters in both MSW or MCL
First back off a layoff of 90 or more days
First race off a claim
Race after a win

Anybody that has these stats would be intrested to see the trainers.

Will justify get dqd

Even if test was pursued Baffert would have delayed the situation in court and he would have run and won triple crown anyway then later they could take away the Santa Nita derby away but still a triple crown winner

I'm reminded by this thread about a horse racing joke I first heard long ago!

Why does the elevation of the San Gabriel Mountains increase each year?

Its from all the paperwork that sweep under the rug at Santa Anita.

WADA is proposing to ban Russia from all international competitions, all sports, including the Olympics and World Cup, for 4 years, because Russia covered up drug test positives.

That's the sort of thing people who actually care about doping do.

if racing banned everyone skirting the drug rules we would have nothing but match races. No one is serious, its like doping during the Tour De France. Hard to be mad at one when just about all of them are doing it (I guess that makes it a level playing field?)

I understand the cynicism but those who follow the rules get royally screwed.

LOLZ, the majority are doing something, might be minor, even completely acceptable as a majority, but in terms of strict adherence to the rules the lines are definitely blurred.

Just a question, have you ever worked at a track?
