*edit* Unfortunately I am still in So Cal since 64, fortunate to live at the beach and the weather is about the only good thing left along with proximity to virtually any outdoor activity you prefer. My daughter is what keeps me here along with siblings.

After school as a High School senior and that summer I worked in Santa Ana from 7am-3:30pm and lived in Northeast Anahiem, just south of Yorba Linda. I would drive the down to Huntington Beach and hit the beach across from the power plant to wait out traffic. Back then if you hit the 55 northbound after 6pm it wasn't that bad. I wonder how long it would take to wait out that traffic now, back then most of it was two lanes, till you got to Orange.
As for presets KMET, KLOS, and KROQ were all locked in. Ever listen to DrDemento on KMET?

You're looking at tad over a hour or so to make that drive now. 55 frwy NB at that time is completely jammed all the way from Newport Beach. Just to get to the 55 frwy from Huntington is a bear.
Yes to Dr. Demento, so much stuff that would never be aired now. The song "Pencil Neck Geek" sticks in my memory.

Weird Al Yankovic debued on Dr Demento when he was only 17. Al's mother actually banned him from listening to the show when she first heard it.
'Pencil Neck Geek" would be considered body shaming and bullying nowadays.

I did not know that about Weird Al, that is a good story. Dr. Demento show had that late night radio time slot for a reason.

Knowing how media outlets lied about the polls with Trump (in both 2016 and 2020, the polls severely underestimated the amount of Trump voters), can we trust that Newsom is going to dominate this recall election?

Dems outnumber Republicans by 2-1 in California....the only way this thing had a shot was if there was enough disgruntled Dems to vote against Newsom.

Newsom essentially ran a bunch of anti-Trump commercials and scared every liberal into voting for him.

Top 3 Voting Blocs in California
Democratic- 10,170,317
Republican- 5,334,323
No Party Preference- 5,283,853
There are more Non-Dem voters in Cali.....Won't take much for the recall to succeed, as they're all pissed off.

Problem is a lot of the no party preference voters aren't Republicans either. Newsom essentially changed the focus of the recall campaign from a referendum against him to one where the winner will institute pro-Trump policies....that scared the sh@t out of every liberal into casting a ballot for him. This is why the polls are widening for him. Wish the outcome was different but I really don't see a change in governor come next week.
