As one we love closes, one we love opens
Night racing - love to have it going in the background, periodically getting involved. Love it even more when what I'm watching is in North America.
We bid farewell for the last time to the Pomp last night - and some have noted it with some great posts and pics.
But tonight we welcomed back one of our favorite night tracks, featuring the "Quiet Storm" DJ of equine analysts, our own mountainman, Mountaineer Mark Patterson, with the races called so enjoyably by Peter Berry! Glad to have you both back in our living rooms, and looking forward to my favorite night of Mountaineer - Sunday!!!

Tx for your interest, sir. Entries light thus far, but with grass racing starting up wednesday, those numbers will improve.
Incidentally- and on a selfish note-I came as close as I ever will on opening night to running the table with winners, going 7 for 8 , with my lone loser finishing second. But a perfect mark would have required some sort of asterisk considering how chalky our results were. The bar was not so high. Lol.

that has to be the best performance of all time, and if the rider on the second place runner gave the horse a better ride it would have been a sweep.
you had a couple of horses that overcame the track bias and you knew the bias before the race. that's as strong as it gets.
