I don't think so. Too many players testing positive and camps haven't even started yet.

If I'm Trump. I would end military participation to include color guard and fly overs.
I'm planning on recording a couple of college games and watch those on Sunday.

I think if the NFL players kneel, so will the college players.

I received a call an hour ago to renew my Miami Dolphins season tickets.
I passed. I had 4 seats, relatively inexpensive. I originally paid $2200 due to only 7 home games. The dolphins were the home team in a UK game, and that counted. Now they want to much. Season pass parking was another $140

I record all NFL games that interest me. I fast forward past the NA and start watching from the kickoff. So I dont really care what the players do during its playing. When I'm at an event where they're playing the NA, I stand at attention, etc. If other people dont, that's their personal preference. So be it.

Sometimes I stand, other times I don't. I mostly stand because its nothing to stand for a couple of minutes.
It does not bother me if people don't stand, or ignore it, kneel, whatever. Free Country.
The song sucks. If we had a better song I'd sing and dance to it.

College or pro? I said "no college" would be favored over a college season.

That sucks they didn't drop the price with one game in the UK.

They should give Tua the Mahomes treatment and park him on the bench for a season. It gives him a chance to learn from a veteran QB and more time to fully recover from his horrific injury.

Tulsa soccer team announces it will no longer play national anthem before games
https://sports.yahoo.com/tulsa-athle...034708525.html
According to the article, the third verse of the National Anthem has a slave reference.
Quote:
No refuge could save the hireling and slave / From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave
|
I knew My Old Kentucky home made a reference to African Americans:
Quote:
The sun shines bright in the old Kentucky home,
‘Tis summer, the darkies are gay;
|
The lyrics have been changed when it is sung at the KY Derby.
And of course only the first verse of the National Anthem is sung.
Here is an excerpt from an articel from Sports Illustrated that asks some interesting questions:
https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/202...ore-every-game
Quote:
Why is the national anthem played before each and every sporting event? What does the national anthem have to do with sports? Why, other than tradition, is the national anthem a requirement for sporting events?
Why is the national anthem not played at the movie theaters before the previews begin?
Why is the national anthem not played at Broadway shows before the show begins?
Why is the national anthem not played at restaurants before you get your meal?
Why is the national anthem not played before White House briefings?
Why only sporting events?
Nobody is against honoring veterans. But I still don't understand why we do it at sporting events only.

I seem to recall the national anthem playing before a movie when I was young. Might have happened before a movie on a military base.

For the most part if people don't stand, that's your call, I normally could careless. But in this case, there is an implied FU America in the kneeling, as a veteran I find insulting.

No sport stays on top forever. My guess is the NFL will eventually fall from the king of the mountain....due to oversaturation, bad moves from the people running the sport or just the general public looking for something new to fill their free time and attention.
