I didn't mean to imply that I didn't notice the judge's "huge mistake". My point was that our justice system shouldn't be crafted in a way where a violent criminal is allowed to go free simply because some victim "other than the complainants" provided testimony at trial which further validated the defendant's 'loathsome character'.
Can you picture a defense attorney who uses the words "loathsome character" when describing his client to the trial judge, in the act of defending the client's legal rights?

Well, all you have to do is follow the kangaroo court trial of Trump.
The prosecutor spent two days doing just that. The whole case is like a script TJDave wrote:Orange Man Bad.
We have that kind of safeguard in place to protect innocent people.
And reversal of any faux guilty plea here will validate that.
Our legal system exist, in theory, to protect the rights of thepeople, not reward the courts. This judge failed to do his job, and, like this moron in NY today, should be removed from the bench.

The law protects, in theory, ALL CITIZENS.

You should know better than to argue with someone who (as far as I know) lives in Chicago and STILL thinks Trump is the problem. Vote BLUE no matter what. There are the Socialists and then there are their enablers.

I never said that Trump is the problem…I just said that he is stupid. To me, Trump is just a “has-been” who is hardly worth talking about anymore. As far as I can tell, the only people here who keep bringing Trump up are his misguided “disciples” who think that he will be the next POTUS.
You will notice that Trump has nothing to do with this thread, but Tom felt that it was necessary to bring him up in this discussion too. It’s you guys who are obsessed with Trump…not me.

No, Tommy-boy, you are wrong yet again. What I responded to JustRalph wasn't a "deflection", it was right on point with the topic of this thread. The comment that I made was...can you imagine a DEFENSE attorney who uses the words "loathsome character" to describe HIS OWN CLIENT to the trial judge. In the article that was posted in this thread yesterday, Weinstein's OWN LAWYER used those words when describing Weinstein to the judge. And in your response to me, you presented a situation where THE PROSECUTOR is using the words "loathsome character" when describing TRUMP to the judge. And you are now saying that my example was exactly the same as yours, when the truth is that what you said was the exact OPPOSITE of what I said. Are you really that allergic to the truth?
Another thing. You and I have gotten into plenty of disagreements here, and I have always resisted the urge to call you "stupid". But this isn't the first time that you have done that to me. I call Trump "stupid" and you respond by calling ME stupid, as if me insulting Trump is the same as me insulting YOU. I know that you enjoy playing the role of the "class clown" here, and you should continue doing it since the class here is so receptive of your childish outbursts.
