I vote for option B.

No override, shutdown redux.

he'll take the money then build more wall with the DOD footing the bill. Whatever he dares get away with. After the 9th circus just sided with Trump, the dims will probably be scared to even give them a shot against him using DOD dollars

Maybe so, but the Pentagon won't be scared.

Look, this works for me I think. About ten posts a week I just X Pace Advantage out of windows before I click submit with my post done. Look at it another way, you don't take a shot unless you can deliver. Then transfer that logic to the way you bet and your home.

Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvany appeared on "Meet The Press" Sunday. He said that Trump has three options on funding for the wall: another shutdown, accepting what Congress gives him, or taking the money from Congress and shifting other funds already appropriated to build the wall. Mulvaney said the 3rd option is most likely.

That plan would use an executive order to shift unspent funds from areas like disaster-relief projects, military housing, and flood control initiatives.

Who could possibly object to that?

Quote:
“It will create a firestorm, once you start taking money that congressmen think is in their districts,” said Jim Dyer, a former staff director for the House Appropriations Committee. “You will cause yourself a problem if that money was directed away from any type of project or activity because I guarantee it has some constituency on Capitol Hill.”

Even if Trump decides that the legal obstacles of an executive order are less daunting that those that would come with a national emergency declaration, tapping unspent funds intended for disaster relief and military construction would bring serious political and policy risks.

By diverting disaster money intended for heavily Democratic California and Puerto Rico — instead of staunchly Republican Texas, which is still rebuilding after Hurricane Harvey — Trump opens himself up to criticism that he’s favoring red states over blue ones. Both of Texas’ GOP senators, Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, have made clear their opposition to reprogramming any Harvey relief funds.

Redirecting the military funds by fiat is also more complicated than it might sound, in part because Pentagon spending typically happens slowly over long time frames.

/If Trump wants a lock on the next election he should start pulling money intended for liberal projects and redirect to the wall. He'd be guaranteed another win.

Do you really think he can do that without ending up in court? Are flood control or military housing liberal projects?
