formula's favorite plays in fields of less than 8 horse
Let me share my latest endeavor.
Looking at favorites in fields of 6 and 7 horses.
When I set a formula factor to 1
30 wins in 65 plays, $1 return $1.07
When factor is <>1
84 wins in 222 plays, $1 return $0.91
A 1 factor is determined when there is, but 1 exacta play for the favorite, say x with y.
For this thread Ill record the following results from live play
x and y $1 win bet returns
x/y exacta $1 returns
y/x $1 returns.
Only 16% of the races qualify.
I also include lessor field sizes

I could hear my mind calling out "wire,wire, wire"
loses to the 7 by a nose. #9 was 8/5 and paid $2.10 on the dollar for the place.
