I think you can make a case either way.
If you are a right wing idealist (is there such a thing?) you might conclude that a rational mind would accept it as a kind of empathy and cause the protestors to back off.
If you are a right wing cynic you might conclude the protestors would see it as a sign of weakness and be emboldened to do even more looting.

There are people who believe that simply saying "I'm sorry" or "I was wrong" is a sign of weakness.
I know people like that.
It seems to have no particular political underpinnings, perhaps more cultural or something. John Wayne and all that jazz or something.
Not a good place to be IMHO. But we all know, or have known, people like that.
To me, it's the opposite of strength, and certainly the opposite of confidence.

Damn Trump!
BUT, as with COVID, it would seem that this is also a WORLD-WIDE problem, not a TRUMP problem.

The other officer being caught on tape saying that they should let GF up makes it a lot worse for the one killer cop, but makes it harder for the other three now.
The cop with the knee in his back - THAT is going to be the interesting one, per Baden yesterday.

FanDan, if 'peaceful protestors' are out past the well publicized curfew, what should be done with them?

2nd degree murder implies intent. I don't think that's going to be very easy to prove because they were waiting for EMS while they had him pinned down and it's close to 100% the cop knew he was being videotaped. Intent therefore implies he was basically making a snuff film for the people filming it. That's crazy.
What he did was one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life, but I'm not so sure he was literally trying to kill him. I think he was in some sort of mentally out of control state where he was saying F U to everyone watching and the guy accidentally died as a result of his severe actions.
Then again, I'm not a lawyer.

In NY, they arrest them and the release them immediately because NYS and NYC are run by incompetent idiots. May of the rioters and looters were IN JAIL in April but let out by Deblasio, because it was dangerous for them to be in jail during a pandemic.
Now, thanks to the biggest AHOLE in the world, they are out SPREADING the disease along with looting and burning. NYS - Biggest S***Hole state there is.

Black Lives Matter.
But not all of them.
People KNOW who murdered this cop - but NO ONE is asking them to reveal who it is.
BLM - BS
BL = Dem politics, nothing more.
