2020 Bing Crosby
A little autumn Del Mar. Del Mar is good anytime to me.
Race #1
$2xb
$1 P3 / /
Awful chalky but your bet has to look like your handicapping conclusions......I guess
Anyhow, as an aside, in the 3rd, Trevor T, looks like he may have some real talent, and his connections just might have some fun with him this winter and the coming spring. He was awful green in his debut, but showed talent in that race. His 2nd race showed a great deal of improvement in the behavior department, and it showed in his performance. I'd look for him to get past state N1X almost immediately and into the state bred stake program down the road.

Reason: Had to fix some spelling. Hate typos. Drives me nuts.

Oh, the psychological side of betting. They say gamblers are self-destructive, otherwise, why would you do what we do to ourselves. Even when we get it right, we sometimes get it wrong. Basically, I was comfortable with the first 3 in the 1st race, and real comfortable with the winner in the 2nd, but instead of playing the tri in the 1st and playing to just win in the 2nd, I go timid on both those bets, using the exacta option in the first and the WP option in the 2nd. Making the 2nd even worse, I play what I knew was a kind of dicey tri. My handicapping concluded the tough sorting out in the 1st and the solid winner in the 2nd, but my bets didn't reflect that. Very timid with what I felt was correct, and aggressive with the reach.
Self-destructive. Yea, I guess.

$20P
$3xb
If the gets beat, I'm just trying to get my $6 P3 bet back with the place bet. looks interesting.

10/31 +34.10
Bing Crosby meet +34.10
Bet $70
Cashed $104.10
Profit of less than 50 cents on the dollar bet. Tough way to make a living.
Tomorrow I'm looking at races 2-5 and 9. Hopefully there's something a little more juicy than today, and maybe I maximize my handicapping a little better.

Won the 3rd by a nose and lost 4th by the same.
It all evens out.
When nothing stands out and the thinning out process just brings you to the short priced horses, it's tough to get through. You'll get nailed sooner than later.
