We are the thought police, and we don't need no stinkin' record of actions.

It's a free country. No one should be fired for being a bigot.
Brendan Eich resigned.

Companies will put up with a lot as long as your beliefs do negatively effect their bottom line. No Company wants to be know as haven for bigots because that will effect their bottom line.

From the political wing that preaches peace and freedom -- unless it goes against their philosophy.

A bigot is now defined as someone who believes that two finooks should not be able to marry. That is a lot of Americans.

He was fired, and the board admits it. What it gets called in the press is one thing, but it doesn't change the facts

Let's just hope that they apply their principles consistently. After Bill Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act,
Quote:
Hillary herself then defended this law for over a decade. Even when the press described her as “repudiating” it in 2007, she only favored repealing one section.
“Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time and I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman,” she said in January 2000, eleven months before she was elected senator in New York. She said during that campaign that she would have voted for the Defense of Marriage Act.

It will never happen.
They want what they want, when they want it and every one else be damned and regardless whom they hurt in the process.

It expanded my opinion of Eich.
He's a bigot and a weasel.

Why should he apologize for a law that he felt was just? That would be a compromise of his beliefs.
Here is another take on the issue from Andrew Sullivan, a gay man who is married to a man.
Quote:
The whole episode disgusts me – as it should disgust anyone interested in a tolerant and diverse society. If this is the gay rights movement today – hounding our opponents with a fanaticism more like the religious right than anyone else – then count me out. If we are about intimidating the free speech of others, we are no better than the anti-gay bullies who came before us.

What beliefs?
He has refused to state them.
