it is too bad that air travel is regulated this much and every day I see people that should have never been given a license and no one does anything.

Friend is crazy. No way its at Diego Garcia. Does make for a good conspiracy theory though if you are in to that sort of thing.

Been there when doing USNS repair work not completed elsewhere. Very, very secretive place. Escorted everywhere I went. Don't put anything past these guys, the technology they had back in the early 80's was awesome.

CNN has turned into "The Malaysian Crash Channel"
They even have a countdown clock going on the battery for the black box. Like they have any idea when the battery will die

ABC reported this evening that the battery could last up to 45 days if it was fairly new. It's guaranteed for 30 days.
My feeling is that it may be lost forever, simply because they're basically guessing where to look. The ping they heard today could have come from a sub tuned to the same frequency as far as 500 miles away.
Eventually the best teams will pull out of the search, leaving the Chinese and Malaysians to search for themselves. Good luck with that.
