Field Sizes...

I know field sizes are shrinking, last year average was a bit under 8.

(linked data from HANA from 2017)

http://www.horseplayersassociation.o...7Sortable.html

What I cant find is field size data sorted by sprint and route, does anyone have the breakdown?

The route fields just seem to be short and shorter.

Brown dirt... I can heuristically conclude that turf routes would have large fields...

While bigger, they are slowly declining. It was bound to happen with so many turf races being run at many of the tracks.

This data has been routinely published for every track in the land since the dawn of time.

You can extrapolate and combine the data as you wish.

Gotta link, or just being a smartass again? Took me two minutes to generate my post. What was the harm?

I did look for this this info on PA and elsewhere, as you can see from the HANA link I provided. Your advice "You can extrapolate and combine the data as you wish" would result in a base rate fallacy as opposed to fact.

... meaning, you want someone else to do the work for you

(nice try)

The data is there, for as far back as you could realistically need to see, now all you have to do is harvest the data that has always been there.
