Too bad Yonkers canceled show wagering in the 8th. (They canceled place wagering in that race as well.) The 1/5 favorite did not finish in the top three.
I'd like to know how Yonkers determined they would not have show wagering in the 8th after offering it in the 5th and 7th. Tonight they had three divisions of a New York Sire Stakes - races 5, 7, 8. The first two divisions had place and show wagering, but the third division had win only.
The 5th had seven horses, with the 3/5 morning line favorite going off at 1/2. The favorite wound up with about 87% of the show pool and finished off the board.
The 7th had eight horses, with the 6/5 morning line favorite going off at 1/5. This favorite had 80% of the show pool and won the race.
The 8th had eight horses, with the 8/5 morning line favorite going off at 1/5. There was no place or show wagering in this race. The 1/5 favorite didn't make the trifecta.
If they hadn't canceled show betting in the 8th you might've had a couple of scores at Yonkers tonight.
