Yep....supposed to take place at the main branch of the Lafayette Parish Public Library during the first week of October.
Drag queens will read stories to children while dressed in full regalia.
Most of you know that I tend to fall on the left side of politics, but this is just ridiculous. Yeah yeah yeah....I know, if you don't like it then don't bring your child. Gotcha, but is this the type of program that public funds should be spent on? If some guy wants to hold this at his private business, that's cool with me.
Is it beneficial or educational to expose young children to this? They are young children, around 10yrs old. Don't know about you, but gender identity/fluidity/whatever was NOT something I needed to know about at that age. I was mostly concerned with my Evil Kneivel wind up motorcycle launcher when I was ten.
City Council is currently debating on whether to approve this or not.
Seems to me that this story hour will lead to another two hours of confused kids asking their parents a whole slew of questions that they may not be prepared to answer....they're too young to see this!
The Righties here will have a ball with this one...and rightfully so
