Yes and Yes.
The occasional pop-in would be nice but this is crazy.

I don't recall anyone of political importance who had a list of people he wanted kept away from his memorial service. Trump and Palin I know for sure were named, but believe there were others.
He had to be off the rails to not want a sitting president to attend, regardless of their differences.

Coverage seems in line with other "giants", such as Ted Kennedy. Shrug.

Ya think?
It could be media saturation now vs. even just 9 years ago but it seems like much more to me.

I've changed the Fox News channel to something else more often in the last few days than ever before! They should check their ratings.
The coverage, along with the numerous, individual memorials, is ridiculously excessive, IMO.
I hope that the First Lady and the VP don't show up at the memorial in Washington DC.

He planned it himself, when you hit the 80 year old mark you too will view yourself more important than others. We all will revert to child like attitudes.
In Senator John McCain's thoughts it actually meant raising the bar, who can argue with raising the bar. But in today's body politic it may not always result in winning, the Presidency especially. Many here might not agree with me on this but you have to consider how the good Senator handled his Presidential campaigns and the results.

My father was also a Navy guy and if he visited Vegas it didn't take him long to be at the craps table. I know he said he learned in the service, and when you mentioned McCain it made me think that maybe craps was part of the Navy culture.

Also, it's the start of Labor Day weekend which is in the competition for the slowest news time of the year.Filling the void.
