New NYC pension numbers are out. Since assuming office in 2022, Democratic Socialist since 1987 and NYC Comptrollerista Brad Lander has lost $12.05B in pension asset value. The equity portion of the pension is down 10.4%. In contrast, the SP500 has increased 4.04% in this same time frame. According to him and only him, his ESG agenda focuses on creating "long term shareholder value" while seemingly prioritizing short-term losses. However, since pensions are constitutionally guaranteed in the great State of New York, his consistent underperformance creates a present liability for all residents of New York, statewide.
