The Pomona Fair used to card low level starter allowances at 1 9/16 miles on the 1/2 mile track. I oddly did well on those and loved them. Sometimes they were basically $3200 claiming races. I know my percentage hitting those was way higher than Belmont Stakes.

They can and sometimes do. However, many European countries, like Germany, do not allow horses who raced on drugs not be allowed to stand at stud. If they intend to stand them in their home countries when they return, why destroy their breeding careers by racing on Lasix.

What you're suggesting is a big stretch from the post I was responding to.

Ferndale still runs a 13 furlong $10,000 6 turn race every year.

Cloud Computing shut him out at the top of the stretch.
Is there going to be a good field in the Belmont Stakes? Are we going to see any top class horses fighting for the prize?
Keep on riding and handicapping.
Good luck

I was optimistic after the Preakness, but the Belmont is going to be very unpredictable I think. I dont even know where to start.
