The 2yo daughter of Rachel Alexandra is set to debut today at SAR in the 2nd race. The Pletcher trainee is the 6/5 ML fave.. John Velazquez aboard..

Bloodhorse interviewed Pletcher about this one, he didn't sound that optimistic about today's race. He said she's training well but doesn't break well and may need more distance. I wouldn't want the likely low odds after those comments.

I'm gonna tell y'all like a friend.
I hope Rachel Valentina runs much better than this start/stop/pause-in-between video. This thing is AWFUL.

Bernardinis need more distance, and Rachel Alexandra was a router too. Even Samantha Nicole broke her maiden in a 9 furlong route.

Bernadini has had 8 firster winthis yearl, evenly divided 4 sprint winners, 4 route winners.

Of course, any sire will have some sprint winners, and 8 is a really short sample size.
Also, I have no idea what the competition was in those races. Without context, a statistic has no meaning. People thought Storm Cat was a dreaded curse in 10 furlong races or higher. I just figured the wrong Storm Cat horses were running in Kentucky Derby.
Most of the A.P. Indy sires promote distance, as A.P. Indy was a Belmont winner himself. Plus, Bernardini wasn't bred to a sprinter here. Rachel is a multiple graded stakes winner routing.

I was a more hardcore Rachel Alexandra fan than most. She was the best female racehorse on dirt I've seen in modern times.
I think Rachel's Valentina is vulnerable in this spot though considering the pedigree and trainer's comments.

I'm just hoping she shows talent and promise, I don't really care if she wins first time out. Valentina and Jess' Dream could very well be the only two offspring Rachel produces, and it would be fitting if they were both talented runners.

Barbara Banke looked so happy walking her into the winners circle. And all who love Rachel are happy with her.

why is it that every race at Saratoga is a heart pounding
exciting race, the anticipation of a upcoming race at Saratoga may have something to do with it. For me, it's like Churchill downs Derby, Pimilico Preakness, Belmont stakes, Arlington Million days. Whereas DelMar I'm just not feeling it the way TVG does.
And the winning Horses , you can tell on the replay the Trainers got those boys ready to rumble.
