That's anecdotal hysteria BS. Flu can and does cause lingering health problems as well. Anyone bringing up that crap should be ashamed.

Humans have some immunity, and humans have vaccines for the seasonal flu. Nor is the flu as contagious as covid.
Otherwise we damn well might.

The Unique U.S. Failure to Control the Virus
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/06/u...avirus-us.html
Over the past month, about 1.9 million Americans have tested positive for the virus.
That’s more than five times as many as in all of Europe, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Australia, combined.
Even though some of these countries saw worrying new outbreaks over the past month, including 50,000 new cases in Spain ...
... the outbreaks still pale in comparison to those in the United States. Florida, with a population less than half of Spain, has reported nearly 300,000 cases in the same period.
When it comes to the virus, the United States has come to resemble not the wealthy and powerful countries to which it is often compared but instead far poorer countries, like Brazil, Peru and South Africa, or those with large migrant populations, like Bahrain and Oman.
.................................................. ......................
If covid is the same as the "flu" why does the Disjointed States of Trumplandia also suck at dealing with the ordinary "flu"??

Hey Mike, I guess you and the "flu", are no longer laughing at the coronasvirus. Now that it has exceeded 600,000 fatalities. 6000,000 was passed 20 days ago on July 20,
Over 100,00 more deaths in only 20 days.
Now

With posts like these it seems you are cheering for more death and infection. Weird approach.

But T-cells are harder to measure than antibodies, so we don’t really do it clinically. It is quite possible to have T-cells that are specific for covid and thereby make you immune to the disease, without having any antibodies. Personally, I think this is what has happened. Everybody who works in the emergency room where I work has had the antibody test. Very few actually have antibodies. This is in spite of being exposed to huge numbers of infected people, including at the beginning of the pandemic, before we realized how widespread covid was, when no-one was wearing protective equipment.
I am not denying that covid is awful for the people who do get really sick or for the families of the people who die, just as it is awful for the families of people who die of cancer, or influenza, or an opioid overdose. But the size of the response in most of the world (not including Sweden) has been totally disproportionate to the size of the threat.

Interesting.

right now there are devices being developed that will hook up to your smart phone that you will use everyday that you wake up to scan your system to see if there are any abnormalities.
that will include diagnosing possible cancer in its very early stages. it will also measure for early stage virus's.
to me this is a better bet to work than any vaccine that will come to the market. these devices are fairly close to reality.

Not even close, you and I will be dead and buried for decades before electronic chips will be implanted in humans.
