Long term Pick Six strategy?

Investing $300 per wager how would you structure your wagers. Key 1, 2, or 3 singles.

Im both my singles will win on one of 10 days if I play 2 singles and all 3 would win on one of 30 days.

If all 3 hit I will be very spread in the other 3 legs. If I hit that day then I will have put in 9k. after rebates about 7.5k. How often does a pick six pay less than 20k for all 6 winners.

Granted I could go 60 days without hitting 3 singles on my pick 6. Be demoralized and quit. haha

My Pick 6 strategy usually starts with constructing a mythical caveman ticket. That ticket would include all horses that I think could win in the sequence. If that ticket comes in under $5000, then I know I have a chance to hit if I play it properly using the A, B, C structure, or by weeding horses out. My mythical ticket for the recent big Belmont carryover fit that strategy. I did post it on your thread that PA took down for trying to organize a Pick 6 team. Its on another thread. I would have been alive to four horses in the last leg. The ticket was about $4300 and the five of six returns would have been about $3200.

Sounds good. I play $300 pick 5 with Great success. Theoretically that's a $75 pick six with the chance for consolation. Trying to figure out the strike rate of 5/6. Will take some thought.

My primary concern would be my competition. Large pools attract big fish.

This is interesting strategy, its basically saying that if you have a really good day handicapping, you can hit this thing.

It comes down to picking it or buying it...and unless you are spending a ton of money, you're really going to have to have a really great handicapping day in order to hit one of those things.

I would say that its probably 50/50 as to whether the pick 6 pays under or 0ver 20k but i think you can never really go wrong on a pick 6 if you're investing 300 or less.

Too early to tell, but I like the scenario: 4 days to handicap, 3 maiden and 3 turf races, and I made some decent $ at Keeneland today to give it a shot!
