I'm sure Blake Snell, the San Diego starting pitcher who pitched his heart out in that game and is also a leading candidate for the Cy Young this year, appreciated the fact that Josh Hader was so steadfast in his refusal to get those last 4 outs. I had a bet on San Diego -113 last night...and only now did I find out the reason why Hader didn't close out that game.

They had chances to put him in for 4 outs more than once in the season and did not do it. They loss 2 games that I know of by not using him in the 8th inning.
