I seem to recall it was over Iraq's air space, enforcing an American imposed "no fly zone."
After 9/11 the Bush Doctrine outlined not waiting to be attacked.
It never crossed his mind that the terrorists in 9/11 were from Arabia.
Instead, he attacked Afghanistan and Iraq.
What a costly mess that doctrine generated over the last decade.
There are more Muslim terrorists today than ever, even though Obama announced the Global War on Terror was over in 2013.
Two poor Presidents in a row can foster that.

It works both ways, Dave. We do nothing when our armed forces commit atrocities against unarmed citizens in other countries too. How many times were American soldiers indicted for heinous crimes against unarmed civilians in Iraq? Jail sentences were hinted...but all the defendants ever got was a demotion, and a reduction in pay.

It's been almost 13 years since 9/11. And we've had what? Six confirmed Muslim-based terrorist attacks here on US soil, according to Wikipedia...Fort Hood and the Boston Marathon being the most obvious...with all these Muslim terrorists walking around today (according to you), one would think there would be a helluva lot more than <.5 per year on average...

You can bet it won't be a proportional response.

What's ironic is that these boys were religious students and as such get a pass from military service. They would have been on the dole in some form for the rest of their lives. Of the military who searched for them and will now avenge their deaths they would want no part.
