"Periods Of Rain" - "Up to 1/4" Inch"

Good morning all,

Not sure what to make of this latest forecast?

UV INDEX - 4 of 10
Sunrise 6:41 am
Sunset 8:37 pm
Periods of rain. High 68F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch
.

I understand from prior years that the Churchill surface takes water pretty well. So a 1/4" may not be a big deal. I guess we will need to watch the skies pretty closely.

Just in case, who moves up or down your Derby list based on a 1/4" of rain? I believe My Boy Jack likes the wet? Flameaway is 2/2 on an off track?

I assume the undercard will stay on the turf, but again, could be some decisions as the turf could be yielding?

In closing, guess I am just not sure how much (or how little) rain it actually takes to impact the surface.

Depending on timing , things could get interesting.

Late Edit - It seems Justify has won on the off track back on March 11th at SA - Interesting

Looking at the radar, it doesn't look like anything of consequence.

Based on thomlinsons for me it would move up Bolt, Justify and Vino as top tier horses and Solomini, Instilled and Enticed as underneath horses. I always include the wet numbers as a factor when I make some of my futures bets because you never know what Mother Nature is going to bring the first Saturday in May.

If the track is off, it's Justify, Flameaway, Enticed and My Boy Jack boxed for me

I think the rain actually has helped even the track out a touch, its still inside but maybe a tad more fair.

I'm backwheeling Lone Sailor. I've always believed this is a mud specialist. I just don't think he's good enough to win, even with an improved mud effort.
