Scioto Near Tragedy

Having PC issues I can't post the racing link. IT's best scene at the Scioto website. 6-19 Race 7. Watch number 2. Mid stretch the driver is literally passed out in his sulky. It also looks like the driver was having issues earlier in the race too. Luckily no one was hurt. If you stay with the video as the drivers get off their horses at the end of the race you can see him being helped back to the paddock. I know of one driver many years ago while post parading was so drunk he fell out of his sulky. I don't believe this incident is alcohol related. The driver is a older gentlemen. I'd just like the thoughts of others here. I've never seen anything like it......

Gregg Keidel (1948) was the driver.

Over the decades there are reported instances of drivers dying in races and the horse still crossing the finish line.
Other instances of drivers being thrown onto another drivers bike and finishing the race that way. In fact, there's a story were a prominent drivers jokes about one of these later instances decades ago in upstate NY.

Accidents happen, your just sheltered from most of it (especially these days).

Scary stuff. I hope his driving license is revoked for the safety of everyone. Watching it is pretty unnerving.
